NEW YORK --Joining 150 other top brands, Supima will participate in this year's "Fashion for Action," the annual Housing Works fundraising event that kicks off with a charity gala on Wednesday, November 16, beginning at 6 p.m. at the Altman Pavilion at 135 West 18th Street here in Chelsea and will run through Saturday, November 19.
Both a shopping event and a celebration of the fashion industry's power to aid worthy causes, the event boasts Thom Browne as honorary chair (shown above, right, at last year's event) with co-chairs Patricia Clarkson, Eva Jeanbart-Lorenzotti, and Rachel Roy.
Supima has donated T-shirts and tops from the Supima Collection exclusive to Bloomingdale's. Other participating brands include Burberry, Carolina Herrera, Donna Karan, Edun, Stella McCartney, Tod's, and Yves Saint Laurent.
Participating donors will also include purveyors of services, including Club H Fitness, John Sahag Workshop, Jujamcyn Theaters, and the Standard Hotel.
A general admission ticket to the Wednesday gala, which costs $150, entitles the bearer to first dibs at shopping, a silent auction, cocktails, and hors d'oeuvres.
Money raised will go to Housing Works' fights against homelessness and AIDS, with moneys from Wednesday evening earmarked for the charity's HIV prevention efforts and its integrated health care for women and families.
