NEW YORK – Fashion for Action, the Housing Working fundraiser, got quite a kick-off at Wednesday night’s VIP opening night at the Altman Building here in Chelsea.And Supima was there.
Supima (which donated sportswear from the Supima Collection exclusive to Bloomingdale’s) was one of 150 elite brands—including Burberry, DVF, Dolce & Gabbama, Levi’s Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Prada, Theory, Tory Burch—contributing merchandise that was then offered for up to 70 percent off regular retail price.
Wednesday evening shoppers paid a minimum of $150 per ticket to get first crack at the merchandise, as well as wine, cocktails made with Kettle One Vodka, and hors d’oeuvres ranging from peanut butter and jelly bars to shrimp with grits.
Among the celebrities attending the VIP opening: Patricia Clarkson, Amber Rose, Rachel Roy, and Richie Rich. (Chairman Thom Browne’s always dapper presence was duly noted on fashion blogs including Stylelist.com).
Thursday through Saturday, the sale was open to the public.
